HV Substations Secondary Design Engineer (Electrical) (Stu-01)

Main duties

1) Design and develop thesecondary engineering for high voltage AIS and GIS substations for variousprojects, including new installations, upgrades, and expansions.

2) Develop detailed designdrawings, calculations, specifications and BOQ using international standards(IEC, IEEE…ETC.) and local standard of Egypt and KSA such as: -

       Design and review Substation SLDs,

       Design and review Meter & Relay SLDs, Protection & Control Logicdiagrams, and Interlocking diagrams.

       Design and review 380/220 V AC SLDs, 220 V DC System SLDs, 48 V DCSystem Single Line Diagram,

       Design & review electrical equipment sizing calculations such as DCsystem, AC cables including termination Schedules, MV&LV Switchgear, DieselGenerator...etc.

       Prepare & review CT/VT sizing calculation.

       Prepare & review control & protection cables schedule,termination schedule, and related BOQs.

       ensuring compliance with project specifications and relevant codes,standards, and regulations.

       Evaluate supplier proposals and select equipment based on technicalrequirements and project specifications.

3) Review of SupplierDrawings/Calculations,

4) Monitor progress, resolvetechnical issues, and manage resources effectively.

5) Provide mentorship andguidance to junior engineers, ensuring adherence to engineering standards andbest practices.

6) Identify any concerns duringdesign process and report to engineering manager

7) Conduct site visits andinspections to gather necessary information for design and construction.

Provide quality reviews ofconstruction packages prior to issuance to construction.

9) Provide technicalassistance during the construction of projects.

Employment requirements

1- At least 2 years of experiencein secondary engineering of HV substations.

2- Bachelor’s degree inelectrical engineering from a recognized university.

3- Proficient use of software:AutoCAD - ETAP

4- Strong understanding ofelectrical theories, codes & standards of electrical systems.

5- Excellent problem-solving andanalytical skills.

6- Excellent communication andcoordination skill
